Environment

We’re familiar with working in difficult ground conditions, high-profile projects, on private property and carriageways. This means that our environment management needs to be both versatile and comprehensive.

ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY 5.0.2.1

J&R Contracting Ltd (J&R) has been incorporated since 1995. During that period, J&R has been a preferred contractor, or subcontractor on several large infrastructure development and upgrade projects. Not only has J&R gained extensive experience but also built an outstanding reputation in the industry as Auckland and Waikato-based leaders in directional drilling, open trenching, piloting, and complete pipeline installation.

J&R contracting understands that it has a legal and moral responsibility to manage its activities to prevent pollution, minimise waste and reduce detrimental impacts on the environment.

This involves:

·        Ensure resources are used sustainably, take steps for climate change mitigation and protection of ecosystems.

·        Ensure environmental aspects are an integral part of our services and look for opportunities to reduce emissions and waste.

·        Continually improving Environmental performance by establishing objectives that are reasonable, achievable, and viable also considering technological advances, community needs and current best practices.

·        Raising awareness and facilitating a company culture to support positive environmental outcomes.

·        Reviewing our progress and strive for continuous improvement.

·        Developing and implementing an Environmental Management System following the principles and requirements of the ISO 14001:2015

Once implemented, the EMS will be reviewed annually to improve on Environmental management commitments and guiding principles. This policy has been mandated by management; communicated to employees and clients; and is freely available to the public.
